Hello, my name is Dale Royal. I live in west central Georgia and I grew up in Thomaston, Georgia. I have been a heavy equipment operator, home builder, mechanic, high school math and construction/building trades teacher, high school administrator, vocational program director, computer software teacher, and finally a school district technology director all in 34 total years in education. As the former Technology Director for Lamar County Schools in Barnesville Georgia, I have built and managed computers, networks, student informations systems, and web pages many times. I retired in early 2008 and have been busy working at home on many different projects. Earlier with my wife's and my family's help I have designed and built my own home and several homes for family from scratch.
My hobbies include art, bluegrass and gospel music, the mandolin, violin, guitar, and banjo, restoration of old tractors/equipment, woodworking/furniture making, carpentry, plumbing, masonry and residential electrical, computers, web pages, specialized computer repair and training for individuals, camping, kayaking, and many other interests.
This web site is an effort to provide a web portal for sharing projects and work with my friends, family, and others. Recent projects that I have completed may be displayed as well as interesting sidelights. There is a special section of this web site for sharing selected material only to selected individuals. A login and password are required and will be assigned to only those individuals who have are authorized for this access.
For many years I maintained a set of Genealogy Web Pages that included my Royal and Clark family history as far as we know it to be true. Those genealogy pages also shared a few other's genealogy work and the vast work of Mr. Willard Godbee, a preacher and dedicated family researcher in the Burke County area of Georgia, who is now deceased. Mr. Godbee created as many as 450 family histories of families in the land area known as St. George's Land Parish in colonial America, now known as a portion of the state of Georgia. There are many errors in these older family histories, but they stiill have much value to persons needing a starting point or a detail or two in their family histories. Because of this potential value, this Genealogy web site has been revived and place back on the web as a side item on this website.
I hope you enjoy looking at the various projects, work, or genealogy details on this web site.
